EXPERTS
IN GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP MANAGEMENT
American Councils’
experience administering graduate fellowship programs
ranges from the prestigious Edmund S. Muskie Graduate
Fellowship Program to smaller, country-specific fellowships
such as the Umid Foundation Scholarships in Uzbekistan.
Through these programs, American Councils has recruited,
selected, and placed more than 3,000 participants in degree-granting
graduate programs in the United States. Over 95% of participants
successfully complete their programs of study, and return
to their home countries to advance democratic and economic
reforms.
DIVERSE
SOURCES OF FUNDING
Funds for American Councils-administered
graduate fellowship programs come from public and private
sources. On average, U.S. graduate schools pay 50% of
tuition and fees for participants of American Councils-administered
graduate fellowship programs. In addition, American Councils
has established a comprehensive fundraising program that
builds awareness and receives support from individuals,
foundations, corporations, and grassroots organizations
interested in economic development in Eurasia.
