Proposal to Host Higher Education Program (HEP) Fellows

The Higher Education Programs Division of American Councils administers a number of scholarship programs is always looking for potential University Partners. We encourage you to fill out our online Host University Application form. As the students participating in programs administered by American Councils are a diverse group in a variety of Academic fields, American Councils is looking for information about the range of academic options and support available at your institution. Your answers to the following questions will assist us in recommending suitable candidates for study at your institution.

KAEF

Created by the American people through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and administered by American Councils, KAEF is a graduate program for qualified students from Kosovo pursuing master's and MBA degrees at U.S. universities.

NESA UGRAD

The Near East and South Asia Undergraduate Exchange Program (NESA UGRAD) is a part of the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD Program), a scholarship program managed by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State for emerging student leaders from underrepresented sectors around the world. Launched in 2007, NESA UGRAD provides a substantive exchange experience at a U.S. college or university for students from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Participants engage in one year of undergraduate, non-degree studies at a diverse network of accredited two- and four-year institutions.

RTHEF

Funded by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tatarstan, this graduate program for qualified students from the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation) pursuing master's degrees at U.S. universities in any discipline, with an emphasis on the sciences and engineering.

Short-term programs

Short-term programs may include study tours or short institutes for undergraduates, graduates, administrators, teachers, etc. These programs generally range from a few days to one month and involve creating a personalized program for the group.

THE Prep4Success

THE Prep4Success provides promising young Turkmenistan citizens with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully enter U.S. colleges and universities, independently, while increasing their chances of receiving financial aid. During an intensive, three month study program led by American Councils staff in Turkmenistan, students will focus on developing reading and essay writing skills, building critical thinking skills, and preparing for the SAT, GRE, and TOEFL tests. This program is open to potential undergraduate and graduate students. The top students who complete this training will be eligible for scholarships through American Councils that can be applied toward enrollment in a U.S. host institution. Awards are granted on a one-time basis in amounts up to a maximum of $15,000. Funding beyond this initial amount must be provided from other sources. Host universities are expected to provide F visa support to the participants.
